New Orleans City Guide

After our trip to Nashville, we headed to New Orleans on our recent road trip!

Eat

Seed // We enjoyed a delicious start to our day with an all-vegan breakfast at Seed. I was especially excited to find vegan beignets since I knew I wouldn't be able to try the real thing at Cafe Du Monde, but these were still so yummy!

Cafe Du Monde // An obvious must-visit! I was surprised with how quick the service was considering how bustling it was, but be prepared to be slightly overwhelmed. It was extremely humid during the trip, and there are so many tables, people, and noises, but it all added to the experience! I couldn't enjoy their signature cafe au lait or beignets, but I did enjoy the Cafe Du Monde coffee and chicory. They are cash-only, so keep that in mind!

HiVolt Coffee // Looking for a little lunch? Stop by HiVolt for a mid-day coffee and bite to eat. I only got a coffee, but they have some vegan selections on the menu too!

Freda // You can obviously expect a chic curation at the Ace Hotel, and Freda has everything from clothing, to handcrafted jewelry, and apothecary goods too.

Neon Heart // Another super chic curated store, Neon Heart has a beautiful selection of women's and men's goods, plus home and apothecary items.

Nadine Blake // There's a unique mix of vintage and new items, as well as local items in the very cozy Nadine Blake.

Marie Laveau's Voodoo Shop // Pay your respect to the "Voodoo Queen of New Orleans" at the Voodoo Shop, where you can purchase an array of spiritual goods, or have a psychic or spiritual reading.

French Quarter // The oldest section of New Orleans, you can do everything from check out voodoo shops, hop onto ghost tours, watch the steamboats pass by, and shop for Mardi Gras gear in the French Quarter.

Bourbon Street // My boyfriend and I aren't big on drinking, so we split one small Hurricane (a NOLA classic- rum, fruit juice, grenadine) to drink while we walked up Bourbon Street. The street is mostly bars, and even if you're not drinking is definitely a sight to see!

Jackson Square // Around the St. Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square, you can shop goods from local artists and watch them work.
