Spotlight on Watermelon Skincare
Not only is watermelon a tasty and hydrating treat (I LOVE having it as dessert in the summertime), it's great for your skin too! So many brands, most notably Glow Recipe, have jumped on the watermelon skincare train, so I thought I'd share with you some of my favorite products that incorporate watermelon into their ingredients.
Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Jelly Sheet Mask: The latest addition to the Glow Recipe family is this beautiful sheet mask! I've been super interested in trying out hydrogel sheet masks, and I knew this would be a hit because (shocker) I love the other two watermelon products in their line as well as the Blueberry Bounce Cleanser!
I popped this in the fridge for about 10 minutes before I used it, which gave the nicest cooling sensation to my skin that also brought down some morning puffiness. It comes in two pieces (I wish more masks were like this!), which makes for super easy application.
Pacifica Beauty Energized Glow Turmeric Spice Face Mask: Pacifica Beauty masks are some of my favorite (they have a huge range at Target and Ulta!), because of their clean and easy to read ingredient list, cute heart eyes, and they obviously work well. I love that so many of their ingredients are ones beneficial in your diet as well, like turmeric. This one definitely gets the job done of brightening your skin and is the perfect morning mask when you need an extra boost.
Sephora Collection Watermelon After-Sun Mask: I'm usually not one for Sephora Collection (to be honest I haven't loved their other sheet masks that I've tried), but this one is a definite winner, especially in the summer. I love that it comes in two pieces - one for your face and the other for your décolletage (a very forgotten about part of your skin that's a MUST to take care of), for optimal sun relief.
Like the Glow Recipe sheet mask, throw this in the fridge before you head to the beach or pool this summer, and apply after showering when you get home. The perfect post-sun treat!
Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask: This cult favorite that [I believe] started the watermelon skincare trend is as effective as it is Instagrammable. It's super hydrating, yet gently exfoliating with a blend of AHAs and BHAs, so you'll wake up in the morning with positively glowing skin.
Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel: Drunk Elephant is definitely my current brand crush, I can't get enough of their products! For days when my skin is feeling pretty hydrated, and doesn't need my regular moisturizer, this is a great option. I've also been using it after being outside and I just need a quick boost of hydration to my skin. I also have mini sizes of the T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial and C-Firma Day Serum, all of which I can definitely see myself purchasing in the full size.
Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer: I've been loving this since its launch (which I got to attend in Beverly Hills in February, so fun!), and have used it pretty much every day since! It's the perfect light moisturizer that is still super hydrating and obviously smells amazing.
MILK Makeup Watermelon Brightening Serum: Once this was released I knew I had to give it a try. It's the first EVER stick serum, and I had never tried anything else from MILK Makeup before this, so my interest was definitely piqued. I love swiping this across my face, and using my chilled Rose Quartz roller (more on that here) to apply it all over.
It definitely brightens up my complexion in the morning, and I'm looking forward to trying more products from their collection.
